The Da Vinci Globe

At a map fair in London in 2012, a collector bought a small globe made of ostrich egg shells. It depicts astonishing details such as ships, a drowning sailor, a volcano, a hybrid monster and an enigmatic anagram. The object is engraved by a left-handed Renaissance artist of unquestionable quality. It shows the continents according to secret knowledge from the time of Amerigo Vespucci and Leonardo da Vinci. Central and North America are covered by a vast Ocean. A preparatory drawing of Leonardo’s for this globe, showing the coast of the New World, was also found. The globe originates from Florence and dates from 1504.

This book solves the mystery of this treasure, named the Lenox Globe and now displayed at the New York Public Library, offering irrevocable evidence that this small ostrich egg globe was the work of the genius Leonardo da Vinci.
