Produktbeschreibung
Francesco Petrarca, Gaspara Stampa and Giovan Battista Marino not only write poetry about loving, breaking, longing but also sighing, raging and copulating hearts. In a discourse-historical perspective the heart can be analysed in the Petrarchan poetry as an epistemological crystallisation point where the contemporary knowledge of the human body and its surrounding environment is located. The inquiry on the readable knowledge of the presentation of the heart is based on the thesis, that the human heart, until the discovery of its physical functions in the year 1628 offered, an enormous potential for metaphors and could easily integrate religious, nature philosophical, medical and last but not least erotic aspects.
