Produktbeschreibung
In times of manifold crisis and unavoidable transformations (of a social, political and economic nature), the academic field of mediating, performative arts feels obliged to seek and formulate responses. That is why it was important to us to compile an anthology with an international group of authors, characterised by different professional traditions. The appreciation of in-between spaces and differences can represent a unifying impetus, particularly facing the current challenges.
2. What new perspectives does your book offer?
This anthology brings together various perspectives from different traditions in different countries and cultures from the field of mediating performative arts. The various contributions thus bring together the perspective of the in-between space to be negotiated. This also becomes clear in the chapters in which the authors respond to each other's contributions. The focus is not only on their own expertise, but also on the joint search for urgently needed processes of change.
3. What makes your topic relevant for current research debates?
This volume is relevant for curricular discussions in the field of performative arts and further as an example of reflecting possible answers to the challenge of content in academic training programmes in the face of unknown futures.
With this volume, we propagate ›a writing into the unknown‹ as a practice of dialogue we consider to be beneficial for academic discourse as well as emphasizing positions of in-between.
4. Choose one person you would like to discuss your book with!
We would like to discuss the book with people who take a benevolent and critical view of the search for academic interstices and who want to drive forward the dialogue processes in an international context with a high degree of urgency and meet the challenging differences emphatically.
5. Your book summary in one sentence:
What future challenges are we already facing today? Perspectives on how this can be addressed in higher education for mediating performative arts.
