Produktbeschreibung

Horkheimer and Adorno made an essential and incomparable contribution to the theory of capitalism in the 20th century. The philosophical matrix is an interdisciplinary approach, which is relating different aspects like economic, psychological and cultural aspects. In fact, a political theory remained unwritten. There are only approaches in different contexts, which are to be investigated in this volume: authoritarian character and collective narcissism, racket-theory and administrated world, authoritarian state and state-capitalism.

Further subjects are: the critique of liberalism, the political negativism and the relationship to marxism. Although the authors do not conceal the problems in the political thinking of Horkheimer and Adorno, they, however, explain its potential to recognize a social reality, which is still to be criticized.

Articles by:
Hendrik Wallat, Gunzelin Schmid Noerr, Joachim Hirsch, Ulrich Ruschig, Kai Lindemann, Raban Witt, Hans-Ernst Schiller, Hans-Georg Bensch, Marc Schraven and Per Jepsen.

Editors:
Ulrich Ruschig, is Professor for philosophy at the Carl von Ossietzky University, Oldenburg. Hans-Ernst Schiller, is Professor social-philosophy and ethics at the University for Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf.
