Porzellan der Kirche

'Organisation und Finanzierung', 'Kirchliches Arbeitsrecht', 'Diakonische Bildung' sowie 'Diakonische Haltung' – das sind die vier Analysekategorien, in denen Maike Mittelsteiner nach diakonischen Identitäten in der Geschichte des Oldenburgischen Landesvereins für Innere Mission fragt. Der Untersuchungsschwerpunkt liegt auf den knapp drei Jahrzehnten der Weimarer Republik sowie der NS-Diktatur. Doch werden auch die Anfänge der Inneren Mission im Oldenburger Land seit dem Jahr 1882 berücksichtigt. Im Blick der detailreichen Untersuchungen sind sowohl der Landesverein insgesamt als auch die einzelnen Einrichtungen in dessen Trägerschaft – u. a. ein Fürsorgeerziehungsheim. Der Titel 'Porzellan der Kirche', ein Zitat aus dem Jahr 1934, bezeugt eine Selbstdeutung der Inneren Mission als fragil und kostbar zugleich.

“Organization and financing”, “Church labor law”, “Diaconal education” and “Diaconal attitude” – these are the four analysis categories in which Maike Mittelsteiner asks about diaconal identities in the history of the Oldenburg State Association for Inner Mission. The focus of the investigation is on the nearly three decades of the Weimar Republic and the Nazi dictatorship. However, the beginnings of the Inner Mission in Oldenburg Land since 1882 are also taken into account. The focus of the detailed investigations is both the state association as a whole and the individual institutions in its sponsorship - including a welfare home. The title “Porcelain of the Church”, a quote from 1934, testifies to a self-interpretation of the Inner Mission as both fragile and precious at the same time.
