Produktbeschreibung
Ancient Legal History at the University of Vienna is known for its long, illustrious tradition. Today, its most prominent scholar is Peter E. Pieler. The twelve contributions to this volume derive from three international conferences, which were held between 2001 and 2007 at the Viennese Law Faculty. The papers were delivered by scholars from German-speaking countries, from Hungary, Italy and Greece. The topics treated in the volume comprise amongst others Ancient Greek Law, Early and Classical Roman Law, and the life of the law in Medieval Byzantium. The authors’ discussions focus on issues of development, interdependency and transfer of concepts generated by the laws of Antiquity. This book is written in German.
