[Unseparated, Unmixed. Special Services in the Coexistence of Judaism, Christianity and Islam].
In a religiously pluralistic society, requests for interfaith ceremonies are increasingly part of everyday church life. Weddings, funerals, dedications or event-related prayers in which more than one religion is involved present liturgical and theological challenges. This book aims to outline ways in which pastors can act in uncertain terrain. It is intended to sharpen awareness and pass on accumulated experience – in the sense of a workbook. The drafts are the result of several years of discussions between the VELKD Institute for Liturgical Studies in Leipzig and the House of One in Berlin. The individual liturgical suggestions are accompanied by reflective introductions and a number of essays dealing with theological questions on interreligious prayer.
