The Palgrave Handbook of Language and Crisis Communication in Sub-Saharan Africa

This handbook explores the role of language, linguistics and communication in effective crisis and disaster management in the sub-Saharan context, arguing that deliberate language and communication practices are a key tool for organisations and institutions to manage and survive. The authors examine debates, trends and insights relating to crisis and disaster management communication in all types of institutions, including private and public sector organisations, formal and informal sector organisations, governmental and nongovernmental organisations (NGOs), political parties as well as social movements and at both macro and micro level.
