Vorträge des 37. Niederbayerischen Archäologentage

The volume contains 11 papers presented at the 37th archaeological conference of Lower Bavaria in 2018, a foreword, a bibliography, and a list of authors. The contributions deal with 30 years of city archaeology in Passau [Niemeier], recent research on Ice Age art and cave sites in Lower Bavaria [Häck], the earthworks of the Altheim Culture [Reitmaier], the circular enclosure of the Cham Culture at Geibenstetten in Dürnbuch Forest, distr. Kelheim [Teegen et al.], the Early Medieval graves at Weng-Bajuwarenring, distr. Landshut [Richter], the recently discovered Early Medieval settlement at Salching-Pfingstberg, distr. Straubing-Bogen [Husty]. The main topic of this volume are quadrilateral enclosures of the Late Latène Period ["Viereckschanze"]. The relevant papers deal with stratigraphical results for the enclosure at Oberschneiding, Kr. Straubing-Bogen [Hanöffner] as well as selected finds and features from Plattling-Pankofen and Pocking-Hartkirchen [Meixner]. The book ends with overview articles on quadrilateral enclosures in the region of Erding between the rivers Isar and Inn [Krause], in Baden-Württemberg [Wieland], and in Bohemia [John].
