The empirical study analyzes the communicated 'Otherness' of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG), originating from Brazil, in the German-language online discourse and derives congregational pedagogical implications for a public congregational pedagogy. Based on a qualitative content analysis, the study systematically examines self-representations and external portrayals of the UCKG and its members in German-language online articles and testimonials, identifying distinguishing features that collectively contribute to the perception of the UCKG as foreign and different. The study demonstrates how digitally communicated constructions of difference contribute to religious identity formation in the public sphere and how evangelical congregational pedagogy can respond to internal plurality and confessional diversity.
