»The »Archive of Legal Antiquities in the German Landscape«. A Collection Project of the SS 1937-1942« Main subject of the thesis is the analysis of untapped archive material concerning the so-called »Archive of legal antiquities in the German landscape«, an unexplored chapter of the scientific efforts of the NS regime. Himmler himself initiated this collection of all the remaining legal antiquities in Germany. First, the Race and Settlement Main Office, later the NS cultural organization »Ahnenerbe« was in charge of the project. The author takes a critical look at the background of the collection and, for the first time, makes the archive available for research via an extensive annex.
