Über das Theaterstück:

Cookie Close ist die geborene Kosmetikverkäuferin. Sie zieht mit ihren Pro­dukten im Vorort von Grand Rapids, Michigan, von Haus zu Haus und spult ihre Verkaufsfloskeln ab. In immer wiederkehrenden surrealen Zeitschleifen verführt sie ihre Kundinnen (und auch unzählige Männer). Cookies un­zerstörbarer Optimismus lässt sie, längst gealtert und erblindet, immer weitermachen, auch als die Verkaufsquote sinkt und sie mit dem Leichnam ihrer toten Tochter umherzieht. Der amerikanische Dramatiker und Dreh­buchautor Noah Haidle hat einen Abgesang auf den American Dream und den American Way of Life geschaffen, der sowohl todtraurig als auch grotesk Cookie Close als Hand­lungs­reisende des 21. Jahrhunderts in Szene setzt.  

Als Schullektüre eignet sich das 2017 uraufgeführte Theaterstück für die Jahrgangsstufen 11/12 (G8) und 12/13 (G9).

Das vorliegende Unterrichtsmodell zielt nicht auf eine chronologische Erarbeitung des Theaterstücks, sondern setzt ausgewählte inhaltlich-thematische Schwerpunkte, die eine gezielte und zeitökonomische Bearbeitung des Stückes innerhalb der/des o. g. Themenbereiche(s) ermöglicht.
Dabei können die einzelnen Components modular und unabhängig voneinander ausgewählt und bearbeitet werden.
