Produktbeschreibung
For Jürgen Habermas, the modernity of the state is based on the revolutionary content of its political constitution. In his book, Simon Gurisch examines the specifically modern meaning of the political constitution of societies. Through a textual examination of the works of Habermas and Hegel, he develops the idea of socialisation through individualisation. At the centre of this is a systematic analysis of Hegel's theory of bourgeois society. The aim is to understand this theory as a political philosophy of modern society that interprets the phenomenon of individualisation against the background of the socialisation of natural needs. In this way, individualisation becomes understandable as a pre-reflexive process of the appropriation of the self through the imagination of natural needs. With critical intent, the author examines the extent to which the political constitution of societies is therefore exposed to a naturalism of individualisation that accompanies the project of modernity like a destiny.
