Ein Kösener Corps in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus

Das Corps Guestphalia Bonn wurde unmittelbar nach der Machtübernahme 1933 wie alle Korporationen gleichgeschaltet. Eine Gruppe von Alten Herren hat unter Missachtung der Grundprinzipien des Corps versucht, sich mit den Forderungen des Parteistaats zu arrangieren. Die 1933 oktroyierten sog. 'Arierregelungen' haben sie zunächst lange erfolgreich unterlaufen, 1935 unter dem massiven Druck des Parteistaats aber schließlich akzeptiert. Die jungen Westphalen haben sich dem vom sog. 'Führer' der Altherrenschaft beanspruchten Führerprinzip zunächst passiv, seit 1935 offen widersetzt. Ungeachtet der ihnen drohenden Repressionen haben sie das aktive Verbindungsleben auch nach der vom Parteistaat betriebenen Auflösung der Korporationen unter konspirativen Bedingungen in der Illegalität weiter fortgesetzt.

The Corps Guestphalia Bonn was brought into line immediately after the seizure of power by National Socialism in 1933, like all corporations. A group of “Alte Herren” tried to come to terms with the demands of the party-state, disregarding the basic principles of the corps. They initially successfully circumvented the so-called “Aryan regulations” imposed in 1933 for a long time, but finally accepted them in 1935 under massive pressure from the party state. The young Westphalians initially passively resisted the Führer principle claimed by the so-called “Führer” of the Altherrenschaft, but since 1935 they have openly resisted it. Despite the threat of repression, they continued their active fraternity life under conspiratorial conditions in illegality, even after the dissolution of the corporations run by the party state.
