Im »Raum der Suche nach Verständigung«

Ostdeutschland gehört zu den am stärksten säkularisierten Gebieten der Welt. Gleichwohl sind dort seit der Wiedervereinigung zahlreiche evangelische Schulen entstanden. Wie realisieren diese im konfessionslosen Kontext ihr christliches Profil? Die Studie schließt an die Forderung nach entsprechenden empirischen Daten an und legt den Fokus auf konfessionslose Schülerinnen und Schüler: Was kennzeichnet das evangelische Profil aus ihrer Sicht? Wie erleben sie seine religiöse Dimension, wie erleben sie sich selbst im schulischen Rahmen als konfessionslos (wahrgenommen)? Auf Grundlage qualitativer Interviews werden typische Deutungsmuster aus wissenssoziologisch-diskursanalytischer Perspektive rekonstruiert und innerhalb eines Spektrums von Annäherung, Enthaltung und Distanzierung beschrieben.

[In the 'space of the search for understanding': Interpretation patterns of non-denominational pupils as contributions to the Protestant school concept (not only) in East Germany]
East Germany is one of the most secularised regions in the world. Nonetheless, numerous Protestant schools have been established there since the reunification. How do they realise their Christian orientation in a non-denominational context? The study follows up on the demand for corresponding empirical data and focuses on non-denominational pupils: What characterises the Protestant approach from their point of view? How do they experience its religious dimension? How do they experience themselves as non-denominational (perceived) in the school setting? Based on qualitative interviews, typical patterns of interpretation are reconstructed from a discourse-analytical perspective and described within a spectrum of advances, abstention and distancing.
