The Adventure of Wisteria Lodge

The British gentlemen John Scott Eccles comes to see Sherlock Holmes at 221B Baker Street about a "e;grotesque"e; affair. But before he has time to say what is so grotesque about it, the police arrive, wanting to hear Eccles out about the happenings of the previous night. A murder happened near Esher and inside the dead man's pocket they found evidence that Eccles had been at the man's, Aloysius Garcia, house. Eccles was renting at Wisteria Lodge, his friend Garcia's property, and had no idea he had died. When he'd woken up that morning, he'd found the propriety deserted: both Garcia and his servants were nowhere to be seen.
