Conflicts of Jurisdiction in Criminal Matters in the European Union

The volume presents the findings of a study on conflicts of jurisdiction in criminal matters in the European Union. On the basis of a thorough analysis of EU law (fundamental rights, secondary legislation), a model is developed that avoids conflicts of jurisdiction by restricting the Member States’ jurisdiction on crimes committed abroad and sets up a procedural mechanism to coordinate parallel criminal proceedings.
