But climate action, the mobility transition, population growth, and affordable housing are challenges that transcend the city’s boundaries. With the Stadt-Umland-Atlas Hamburg (Atlas of Hamburg and environs), the Hamburg Ministry of Urban Development and Housing lays the groundwork for a new vision of Hamburg and the region: extensive data surveys capture patterns and potentials that emerge from the interweaving of the city and its surroundings.
