Abstract “Recht der Polizei” (Police Law) is the law governing the sovereign rights and responsibilities of the police in the relationship with citizens, under public law. The police law consists of the national and European constitutional law, the public safety law and the criminal procedure law. The purpose of this book is to provide students, teachers of law, legal practitioners, lawyers and police officers in training and practice with a work, which presents the foundations of the principal actions of the police, the constitutional methods and the legal mechanisms of all police-related areas of law in a systematic sequence of case management. It comprises all the essentials about the constitutional precepts, the methods of interpretation, European law, constitutional law including fundamental rights, legal foundation of public safety law and criminal procedure law.
