Imogene King's Conceptual Framework and Theory of Goal Attainment

Imogene King (1923-2007) was a major 20th-century thought leader for professional nursing practice. The texts and articles she wrote challenged nurse scholars to think conceptually about nursing practice. King’s Conceptual Systems and Theory of Goal Attainment were formative in the nursing theory movement which was a part of the professionalization of the nursing practice. This text, the first book that originates from within the King International Nursing Group, makes the systems framework and theory of Imogene King relevant for today’s practitioners and displays the value of this theory to improve clinical nursing practice.
